BACKTESTED SOLANA TRADING ALGORITHM
MomentumSwitch tests the complete Solana trading algorithm, not just entry signals
MomentumSwitch uses backtesting to evaluate how its automated Solana momentum strategy would have behaved on historical or frozen market data. The goal is to test the whole trading decision stack under the same portfolio rules and cost assumptions used by the product, rather than showing isolated signal accuracy.
What the backtest includes
Momentum score, liquidity filtering, buy pressure, token verification, confirmation scans, version-specific entry and exit logic, position sizing, maximum positions, total portfolio allocation, fees and modeled slippage are evaluated together. Backtests are run without intentionally using future data to make earlier decisions.
Why modeled trading costs matter
A strategy can look attractive before costs and become weak after execution friction. MomentumSwitch therefore includes platform fees and modeled slippage in complete-system research so marginal trades are not treated as free.
Frozen-data comparison
Research versions are compared on the same frozen market input wherever the underlying historical algorithm can be replayed fairly. Older candle-based versions and the newer snapshot-based complete algorithm can have different data requirements, so MomentumSwitch documents those methodological limits rather than presenting incompatible tests as identical.
Backtested does not mean future profit
Backtests are evidence about past simulated behavior, not a guarantee. Markets change, and Live fills can differ because of price movement, liquidity, slippage, routing and network conditions. Research candidates are not promoted merely because they win one short test window.
Current production research approach
The current production champion remains the validated V3.28 R17 decision logic while newer research candidates are tested separately. The product is designed so Paper and Live USDC share the same automatic decision logic, while actual blockchain execution is treated as infrastructure rather than part of the backtest.
